As a Korean-American living in Western society, my roots are drawn from Buddhism. My work fuses Eastern traditional philosophy with Western contemporary scientific consciousness, exploring Oneness between all aspects of nature.
As an artist with a background in painting and drawing, my work is related to the twentieth-century Korean monochrome movement Dansaekhwa which imbues Western minimalist ideas with Buddhist philosophy. In my recent work, seeking a balance between the subjective and objective, I explore digital media and performance connecting metaphysical ideas with physical phenomena. Throughout my repetitive discipline as a meditative practice, I comprehend the Oneness between changing forces.
